The great journey began on November 3, 2005, when the team returned from THE EDGE Cape Town, South Africa, to the Russian Antarctic research station Novolazaresvskaja. In 63 days, a record time, the team managed to cover about 5000 kilometers of icy soil of East Antarctica on a catamaran mounted on four runners, who took advantage of wind power to move, surpassing the record set by legendary polar explorer Borge Ousland, who advanced with skis and kites 2,800 kilometers in 64 days.
